what are advantages of fossil fuels and natural gas and disadvantages of solar energy?
Fossil fuels are incredibly efficient and cost effective. The energy stored in gas far surpasses any other storage option. Solar is expensive and very inefficient. The conversion process is clumsy and the battery storage system is clunky.

fossil fuels are convenient. usually, home owners cant use alternative energies that are "free" like wind power and solar power, b/c they require huge converters. i would be happy to use solar power for my house b/ c the gas bills are outrageos! plus, there is no money in solar power while fossil fuels are still readily available. how are the major companies going to make money if everyone switches to more effiecient power supplies?

Energy density. For a given unit of volume/weight, fossil fuels pack an incredible amount of energy. Consider how far your car will go on one gallon of gasoline. Now consider how much effort it would take to push it that far. That’s energy densith right there.
Solar’s disadvantes are straightforward: It takes a lot of square footage to get a meaningful amount of energy, therefore it is not portable. It is not reliable (cloudy days). It only works during the day.
